  1. As a Blue Devils fan I gotta say this is nice…..but I just can’t get into the Kyrie I. There’s just something about this shoe that turns me off. I think it’s a nice “foundation” for upgrades & such, but as of now it just throws out this vibe that it’s not really finished or something.

I think it’s the tooling/sole that throws things off with this silhouette. It just looks out of place to me. There’s this futuristic, high tech shoe that’s all crazy looking…and it’s sitting on top of the most “mundane” midsole…and the outsole have this monstrous teeth thing going on. I just don’t like that. I know they have this story that the midsole of the Kyrie 1 is paying some type of “homage” to Kyrie being into skating as a youngster, but maybe introducing things like that right out of the gate was the wrong move. I think this would have been better served once Kyrie’s signature line has been established and some NSW or EXT type versions of his shoe start hitting the market. Oh well, what’s done is done and at least Nike has replaced what the KD line used to represent (an affordable tech driven performace shoe for those who can’t spend $200 or more for footwear). If the Kyrie line takes off it won’t last long, but I guess it’s cool for now

Hopefully next year they’ll so away with the skateboarding “inspired” midsole and get some visible air unit going on.
