OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI STYLE
Our photographic safaris always focus on tracking wildlife, according to the experience of our guides and of the wildlife photographer who will host the group. To maximize the photographic aspects, there will never be more than two people in each row of the car, which will always be reserved for our small group. Our vehicle will always be positioned in the best way possible, thinking both about composition and light, to allow you to have great shots. Our boats will also be private. We will look for interesting scenes and stick to them as long as possible, in order to make the most out of every possible interaction
ABOUT THIS TRIP
Join us for this ten days photographic safari in pristine Botswana, from 27 September to 6 October 2017. We will travel from North to South, from Chobe to the Okavango delta, through the most beautiful areas of this stunning country. And we will do it the way we prefer: sleeping under a bed of stars in our exclusive mobile tented camp. No fences or other people around us. That’s the reason why yo can find a twin of this trip in “Towards the Chobe”, just going on the other side! But let’s start from the beginning: we will spend the first night on the Chobe River, in an eco-luxury lodge, from where we will explore, on a private boat, one of the most distinct ecosystems in Africa and probably one of the world’s last true remaining wilderness areas. We will head south to Savute Marsh, and move to our lovely private mobile tented camp, where we will experience life in close contact with nature, but not without comforts: to name one, our chef will spoil us cooking delicious dishes from sunrise to sunset. At night, only the noises of the bush around us. In Savute we will look for territorial predators and big elephant bulls, the latter have a peculiar predilection for this area. The Moremi Game Reserve will be our next destination. It, undoubtedly, ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa, possibly in the world, boasting one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the continent. Moremi covers much of the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and combines permanent water with drier areas, which create some startling and unexpected contrasts. In Khwai and Xkakanaka, part of Moremi, both of which will host us, will we will enjoy other activities on the water, to discover the secret life of the small inhabitants of the maze of channels of the Khwai River. We will leave our tented camp heading to the last day of our trip, in Maun, to end in style with a stunning 45 minutes scenic flight over the Okavango Delta.
Every day sunrise and sunset activities ( both on land and water ) and the tutoring of the hosting wildlife photographer available at all times.
But if this is not enough, don’t lose the opportunity to visit the world famous Victoria Falls, in 2 days of pre-extension, from 25 to 27 September. Enjoy all the activities at sunset and during the day. The beginning point of this trip, on the Chobe River, is only one hour and a half from the Falls. Send us an email for info and rates.

LIVE REAL WILDLIFE, WITHOUT FENCES, IN PRISTINE BOTSWANA
OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC TARGETS
During this trip we will visit some very different areas, each of them offering amazing photographic opportunities. If you reserve the pre-extension, you will start from the stunning world-famous Victoria Falls, where water will be your primary subject. In Botswana we will focus, in each area, on the main dish offered! In the Chobe area we will concentrate on the big herds of elephants, but we’ll also focus on buffalos and the migratory birds, which, in this period, start to land. Pygmy geese, malachite kingfishers and lovely jacanas trotting over the nymphaea leaves are only a few examples of what we are going to meet. Moving south we will go through the famous Savute marsh area, where the big prides of lions and all predators will be our primary targets. The Savute became famous, many years ago, for the interaction between lions and elephant: during the dry season lions hunted elephants, and this was quite common! With the Savute channel flowing into the marsh, the frequency of these interactions diminished. We can expect to see bat eared foxes, cheetah and leopards, but also jackals, hyena and even wild dogs are easy to spot in dry conditions. The Savuti region is an exceptional area for bird watching. Among the diverse list of species are the Abdim’s storks, kori bustards, large secretary birds and many different birds of prey. The last area we will visit in our trip is the Moremi Game Reserve, in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango, boasting one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the continent. This makes for spectacular game viewing and bird watching, including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered. Water and vegetation attract large amount of birds: among the others, fish eagles, African golden orioles, black herons, various species of ducks, starling, kingfishers, herons, parrots, hoopoes, hornbills and storks. There are many species of antelopes and gazelles, for example sitatunga, lechwe, greater kudus and impala. There are also the larger mammals, like elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, hippos and the other common herbivores. Predators are equally numerous, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, and leopards are on the menu for our photographic appetites. The very last day a scenic helicopter flight will give us the possibility to photograph this unique remote paradise from the air.
We will spend the first night on the Chobe River in a pleasant eco-luxury retreat, in an indigenous riverine forest, overlooking the Chobe River. Then we will move into our mobile tented camp, which will always be placed in unfenced areas. We will sleep in spacious tents 3mx3m, 2.20m high, with mosquito nets windows and private bathroom with a chemical toilet and bucket shower with hot water. Double mattresses, duvet, linen pillows and towels are provided. We will enjoy our meals in the shade of a large tent or around the fire, where we will spend our nights surrounded by the noises of the bush and nothing else. We will not have electricity but it will be possible to recharge the batteries on the safari vehicle. The camp will be set up and moved by the staff. We will spend our last night in Maun, in a B&B treatment.
