OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI STYLE
Our photographic safaris always focus on tracking wildlife, according to the experience of our guides and of the wildlife photographer who will host the group. To maximize the photographic aspects, there will never be more than two people in each row of the car, which will always be reserved for our small group. Our vehicle will always be positioned in the best way possible, thinking both about composition and light, to allow you to have great shots. We will look for interesting scenes and stick to them as long as possible, in order to make the most out of every possible interaction
ABOUT THIS WEEK
Seven days of photographic safari and editing workshop in Madikwe Game Reserve, one of the best conservation areas in Africa. Every day we will head to the bush for two long and flexible game drives, looking for the most interesting scenes that the day offers. We might also enjoy a whole day out, having lunch under a tree. With the tutoring of the hosting wildlife photographer at all time.
During our afternoons, editing sessions with Lightroom will be set up, at the time you like: one to one, to define your abilities, or for the group, to give the basic rules. All will be set up on your needs, related to your photographic and editing level.
An underground photographic hide facing outside the fences, overlooking a waterhole and accessible 24/7 will catch every other single moment you have, this is for sure! Join us today!
4 - 10 JUNE 2017
JOIN US IN THIS WORKSHOP WEEK IN MADIKWE, A PRIVATE GAME RESERVE IN SOUTH AFRICA.
ABOUT MADIKWE AND OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC TARGETS
Madikwe Game Reserve is currently the fifth largest game reserve and is also one of the lesser – known parks in South Africa. This makes it a hidden- gem as it is regarded as one of the best conservation areas in Africa in a 680 km2 park. It borders Botswana and is only 4 hours drive from Johannesburg. It is a malaria free Reserve.
The area offers the possibility to spot all the Big Five, a large diversity of antelope species, the entire range of smaller predators, over 300 bird species, and a tremendous diversity of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Encounters with brown hyenas, black and white rhinos are common. We won’t run after every animal, but we will instead try to focus on the best photographic opportunities available, relying on the deep knowledge of the area and its wildlife of our qualified guide and the suggestions of the hosting photographer. For sure we will look for predators, elephants and rhinos, if we get lucky we might also spot the endangered African Wild Dog and cheetas, but we won’t ignore also the beauty of all the small creatures around us.
The lodge we chose provides an intimate setting and personal touch from the owners. It is an old farmhouse that after years of family laughter and happiness has been transformed into an inviting and relaxing residence that encourages guests to kick off their shoes and unwind.
This 4- star luxury bush lodge is located on the western side of Madikwe Game Reserve and encourages guests to enjoy the relaxed informal atmosphere.
The rooms have aircon and fans, hairdryers, coffee and tea facilities. The bathrooms have separate baths and showers with a variety of toiletries.
There is 220v electricity, cell phone signal and free Wi-Fi should you need to stay in touch.
A pool in a magnificent garden, facing the waterhole, is where you can rest after all the activities we planned for you!
