OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI STYLE
Our photographic safaris always focus on tracking wildlife, according to the experience of our guides and of the wildlife photographer who will host the group. To maximize the photographic aspects, there will never be more than two people in each row of the car, which will always be reserved for our small group. Our vehicle will always be positioned in the best way possible, thinking both about composition and light, to allow you to have great shots. Our boats will also be private. We will look for interesting scenes and stick to them as long as possible, in order to make the most out of every possible interaction
ABOUT THIS TRIP
This ten day journey from Zimbabwe to Botswana, through Namibia, will leave you absolutely breathless . We will visit some very different areas, each of them offering amazing photographic opportunities with water and air being our favorite elements. Our starting point is the world famous Victoria Falls: We’ll admire and photograph them from the Zambesi in two different guided tours, at sunset and dawn. We will then reach the Chobe River, in the Caprivi strip (a narrow strip of Namibian land). Drifting on calm water, on a boat reserved for our small group, to shoot from water level, will be our next endeavour. The big herds of elephants will be our primary target here. We will then move to the renowned Savute Marsh area, famous for its predators. The region is also covered with extensive savannas and rolling grasslands, which makes the scope of the wildlife particularly dynamic in this section of the park. Heading south we’ll get back to the water, arriving in the Moremi Nature Reserve, more precisely to Xakanaka, where we will find almost every kind of game including all the major predators. During this journey we will admire and photograph this pristine and amazing country and its wildlife from land, enjoying 4×4 game drives, from water, with relaxing boat safaris, to end with a spectacular scenic helicopter flight over the boundless Okavango Delta, once back in Maun. Sunrise and sunset will allow us to savour the amazing light of the twilight, with the best subjects that nature could offer. All transfers between our destinations will be on small planes (so please contact us for information about luggage restrictions)
The tutoring of a wildlife photographer is included at all times

THIS IS THE VERY BEST OF AFRICA!
OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC TARGETS
During this trip we will go through four different areas, each of them offering amazing and unique photographic opportunities. We will start from the stunning world-famous Victoria Falls, where water will be our primary subject. Once we’ve arrived in the Chobe River area, we will focus on the big herds of elephants, which, in this period, start crossing the river to reach fresh grasses to feed on, but we’ll also go for buffalos and birds. Moving south we will stop in the famous Savute Marsh area, where predators will be our primary targets and where lions are famous for hunting elephants. This is the perfect place to shoot great images thanks to the dry and dusty conditions of this time, together with the stunning colors of the winter sunsets. The last area we will visit is the Moremi Game Reserve, in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango, boasting one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the continent. This makes for spectacular game viewing and bird watching, including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered. The very last day, a scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta will give us the opportunity to photograph this unique remote paradise from the air.
LOCATION AND CAMPS
We will spend the first two nights at the Victoria Falls in a lovely Guesthouse on a B&B treatment. We will sleep in Zimbabwe but we will visit both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the falls. We will then move, by car, to the Eastern Caprivi, a narrow strip of Namibia on the northern bank of the Chobe River, hosted (2 nights on a full basis treatment) in a luxury lodge set in a classic African savanna environment of sweeping vistas, which overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats. We will move then to the Savute area (2 nights on a full basis treatment), a place with a mystery halo…. “When David Livingstone, the first European to visit the area, saw the Savute Channel in 1851 it was flowing. Thirty years later it had disappeared and the Savute Marsh had dried out, remaining this way for almost 80 years. It flowed again from the late 1950s to the early 1980s, when it again receded, hence its reputation as ‘the river that flows in both directions’. In 2009, after another extended hiatus, the channel began flowing again and by January 2010 had spilled into the Savute Marsh for the first time in three decades, but for how long – no one knows …” In the Moremi Game Reserve we will stay (2 nights on a full basis treatment) in a wonderful lodge situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon, in an area well known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities. We will spend the last night in Maun in a lodge on a B&B treatment after a stunning scenic helicopter flip over the Delta.
